Academic Achievement at HMI

On June 22nd 2017 Hetrick-Martin Institute joined Harvey Milk High School to celebrate the graduation of 18 students, all of whom have accessed HMI’s supplemental academic enrichment programs.

Approximately every six months twenty new young people will access our High School Equivalency and tutoring programs to further their education.

HMI knows that once a young person has stabilized housing, and regular access to other basic resources, like food and clothing, access to education and supportive adults are the quintessential next steps on a young person’s path to success.

All HMHS, HSE graduates and HMI members, through HMI, have access to college counselors who support them throughout the college and scholarship application processes. Approximately 80% of all our HMI and HMHS graduates go to college.

This June alone, thanks to HMI supporters, HMI was able to fund 38 college scholarships.
