Coordinator, HIV Prevention

Unit:Programs
Department:After-School Services
Reports to:Director, After-School Services

 

Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Responsible for the implementation and supervision of programs around onsite HIV testing, and CDC approved Effective Behavioral Interventions.
2. Monitoring the implementation of MPowerment and Street Smart prevention programs.
3. Maintain and monitor onsite HIV testing collaborations.
4. Develop, maintain and monitor a Community Advisory Board which will provide feedback and guidance on HIV prevention programming.
5. Ensure delivery of services is in compliance with HIV Confidentiality, and other risk management duties for department.
6. Responsible for the implementation of programmatic outreach including identifying appropriate sites and linkages.
7. Assist in implementation of strategic planning goals and objectives for the After-School Department as they relate to HMI and its overall strategic plan.
8. Utilize preexisting systems for budgeting and the collection of data required for contractual and evaluation purposes.
9. Responsible for contractual reports as necessary to remain in compliance with funders.
10. Assist in Budget Management for assigned contract(s).
11. Responsible for the oversight and supervision of After-School programs during Administrator on Call duties.
12. Support collaboration between departments and outside agencies to ensure continuity of services for youth.
13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Masters degree or significant social service experience, in social work, public health, public administration, psychology or a related human service field.
2. Extensive knowledge of HIV Prevention - Effective Behavioral Interventions including but not limited to MPowerment and Street Smart.
3. At least three years experience working with an at-risk adolescent and LGBTQ population and sub-populations, with particular emphasis on MSM and transgender-related health issues. 
4. Strong written and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate; strong decision-making skills.
6. Computer Skills:  Strong with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of cultural competency issues.
2. Program design and evaluation experience.
3. Grant management experience a plus
4. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
