Once you have submitted your application, possible next steps may include an in-person interview, a background check (including fingerprinting), and an orientation. (2-3 week proccess).

Finance Assistant:

TASKS: Assist in monthly vouchering of expenses and completing voucher forms, reconciliation of expenses vs. funded expenses, making copies of supporting documents to be submitted with the vouchers and assist in updating programmatic financial budgets by funding agency. As well as maintaining and reviewing contract folder for appropriate documents required by auditors.

SCHEDULE: A minimum of 1-2 days a week, 3-4 hours between 8:30am and 5pm.

REQUIREMENTS:  Knowledge of FundEz Accounting Software.  High knowledge of Excel Prior experience in contract vouchering. Candidate should be very personable, work well with others, and pay attention to detail. This position requires a fingerprinting credential.

PURPOSE: Assist Grants Manager to help the finance department run smoothly. All administrative positions help Hetrick-Martin to continue to serve underprivileged at-risk youth.

Kitchen Assistant/Food Handler:

TASKS: The responsibilities of this position include: menu design and planning for healthy meals with vegetarian options, food preparation, and assisting the chef, as well as serving, clean-up, regular kitchen maintenance (refrigerator cleaning, etc), and administrative tasks, such as inventory and ordering.

SCHEDULE: At least 1–2 shift(s) per week; 2:00pm–7:00pm. Potential availability to cover for the full-time cook during illness or vacation is desirable. We are seeking volunteers who are interested in providing a long-term commitment to the position.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have food Handeling certificate and immunizations.  Fingerprinting and background checks will be conducted; familiarity around a kitchen and food preparation and handling. All aspects of the position require maintaining a safe and sanitary space. This position involves direct work with Hetrick-Martin youth members. On-site training will be provided by full-time cook.

PURPOSE: You will assist in providing healthy, fresh-cooked meals to Hetrick-Martin youth during the After-School Program.

Program Administrative Assistant:

TASKS: Assisting the program staff with filing, data entry and research.

SCHEDULE: The position is flexible Monday - Friday between the hours of 11 am - 6pm.  4-8 hours a week.

REQUIREMENTS:  Work independently, self-initiative; fingerprinting and background check required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Some familiarity of Excel, SPSS or AIRS a plus.

PURPOSE: To assist the Programs Department with administrative duties necessary in supporting the provision of services to our youth.

 IT Support:

TASKS: Assist in day-to-day management and monitoring of HMI’s IT department towards ensuring efficient and effective operation of all equipment and systems to meet agency needs. As well as assist in development and coordinating of IT helpdesk efforts to ensure technology users are properly supported to optimize their use of the information system at HMI.

SCHEDULE: A minimum of 1-2 days a week, 2-6 hours a day.

REQUIREMENTS: Schooling in Computer Science, Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related area; or equivalent experience. Knowledge of TCP/IP, Macintosh, Windows98/ NT 4.0/2000,Windows XP, Exchange 2003, M.S Office. Knowledge of anti-virus software.Knowledge of back-up software; Veritas, Computer Associates preferred. Knowledge of databases and report creation. Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate; strong decision-making skills.

PURPOSE: Your work will help to ensure technology users are properly supported to optimize their use of the information system at HMI.

After School Homework and Computer Help:

TASKS:   Assist youth with general homework, studying, proof reading, etc.  Tutor students if there is a need and volunteer has a specialty in a specific academic area.  Assist in setting up and taking down the room decorations  Monitor computer use and sign-in sheet.

SCHEDULE: A minimum of 1-2 days a week, Monday - Friday 3pm-6pm

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a fingerprinting credential.  Experience working with teenage youth in a tutoring or other educational capacity a plus

PURPOSE:  To allow young people to access a quiet space to serch the web or get their homework done.

Data Entry and Research, Planning Department:

TASKS: Coordinate day-to-day work related to data systems used to track client information.   Closely work with Hetrick-Martin Programs to assess and resolve data related compliance issues and negotiate modifications to database with vendors, funders and staff. Data Monitoring and Evaluation.  Maintain folders for recording and tracking executed contracts and required documentation.

SCHEDULE: At least 1–2 3 hour shifts per week, anytime between 10am - 5pm. 

REQUIREMENTS: Experience in research-driven projects or initiatives.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Aids Institute Reporting System (AIRS) or experience with program databases such as Excel, Access and SPSS a plus.  Knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth issues as well as multicultural competence.

PURPOSE: Help Hetrick-Martin accurately report our youth services to our funders and our community.
